FINANCIAL LITERACY

According to the first objective of the 5-year Strategic Plan of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) "Contribution to the development of the capital market, through the formation of the regulatory framework, its more effective application, the strengthening of information and transparency in the market and the simplification of procedures" and the commitments arising from this objective, the HCMC is committed to promoting financial literacy for capital market issues through:

a) strengthening the presence of the HCMC by using accessible and attractive ways of communication regarding the capital markets and

b) the organization of educational seminars / activities / for various groups such as students, pupils, small businesses, investors, in cooperation with educational institutions and other bodies.

At the same time, the HCMC will prepare informative material that will be posted on its website for the purposes of promoting financial literacy for capital market issues and will promote the training of its staff by increasing the hours of attending seminars or postgraduate / undergraduate programs and/or participating in ESMA’s seminars and other bodies for the training of HCMC members of staff.
