Nikolaos Stavrianou is Director of the Financial Stability Directorate at the Bank of Greece. He has been working at the Bank of Greece since 2004 with extensive experience in the analysis of financial and prudential banking sector data, the assessment of systemic risks, the publication of reports for the financial sector as well as the design and implementation of macroprudential policy measures. He has also served as advisor to the Deputy Governor and has participated in diagnostic studies, capital needs assessments and stress testing exercises of the Greek banking sector.

He has also worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company and Planet in projects for banks, non-financial corporates and the public sector. He has worked as a financial stability expert at the European Central Bank.  

Nikolaos Stavrianou has an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) and a degree in International and European Economic Studies from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is an Athens College graduate.

He speaks English and German fluently. He is married and has two daughters.
