Supervision

 

The Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) is responsible for matters related to licensing, monitoring, supervision and control of the capital market intermediaries. The intermediaries, which are subject to preventive and repressive supervision, include among others the Providers of Investment Services (such as Investment Services Firms - ISF and Investment Intermediation Firms - IIF), the Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) and their managers and the Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) and their managers (AIFM). The HCMC gives licenses and supervises the trading venues as well, such as regulated markets and Multilateral Trading Systems and the Clearing and Settlement System of the Athens Exchange. In 2014, HCMC was designated competent authority for the supervision and control of investments Occupational Insurance Funds (TEA).
