Advisory Committee

 

A nine member Advisory Committee has been established at the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) whose task is to express views on the regulatory work. The Advisory Committee also submits proposals for improving market functioning and formulates an opinion whenever the HCMC officially proposes the adoption of legislation.

The members of the Advisory Committee are appointed by the Minister of Finance following proposals by their associations and currently they represent the Athens Exchange, the Union of Listed Companies (ENEISET), the Association of Members of the Athens Exchange (SMEXA), the Hellenic Bank Association (EET), the Hellenic Fund and Asset Management Association, the Association of Companies on Investment Services in Securities (SEDYKA), the Hellenic Investors Association (SED) and the Hellenic Venture Capital Association. Chairman of the Committee, without the right to vote, is the Chairman of the HCMC. The members' term of the Advisory Committee is for three years.
