Mediterranean Partnership

The Hellenic Capital Market Commission and the Partnership between the Securities Regulators from both Shores of the Mediterranean Sea (Mediterranean Partnership of Securities Regulators)

The specific program was established by a common statement by the countries which participate (France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Turkey and Tunisia) which was singed in 2009, and in which the Hellenic Capital Market Commission participates actively. Its aim is to develop complementary actions, to for example the IOSCO's European and Africa/Middle-East Regional Committees. It is nurtured by the implementation of the IOSCO's principles of securities regulation in the region (peer reviews related to the topics of market abuse, prospectus, and financial information). It is accompanied by the wider dialogue that the signatories will establish with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) for the purpose of their convergence program and more general working relationship with the European Union (EU).
